So I was watching Clue last night and it struck me that Tim Curry looked a lot like a younger Michael Caine- maybe it was the butler uniform that helped but stay with me. I began to think, what if “Wadsworth” is just another of the many pseudonyms used in the movie and he is actually a younger Alfred Pennyworth? Sure, his accent is significantly less cockney but that could be all part of the ruse. Clue takes place in 1954 and although it’s never specified, we can assume Batman Begins takes place in modern day 2005. So if Wadsworth is about 30 in Clue he would be about 80 in Batman Begins. It adds up. Head canon submitted for your approval.
Michael Caine on The Dark Knight Rises’ ending.
Wednesday night I went to see my dad to pick up some DVDs I lent him. I asked him if he was free to catch a matinee of The Dark Knight Rises this weekend. He said he was. I put DVDs of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight on the table. “Here’s your homework,” I said.
This morning I received an email from him with the subject line “Batman.”
Good Day Master Derek can you be around my place afternoon for the 3pm showing? Have a good day master Derek.
So my dad has turned into Alfred.
As Batman lay helpless, Aflred Pennyworth springs into action with his super ninja action to save the day.
After The Dark Knight came out I was fairly unsatisfied with the quantity of merchandise I bought and promised myself I would buy as much stuff as possible when the next movie came out. So far, so good.

Alfred is clearly the smartest of the bunch, bringing an umbrella and all.
